Saturday

So once I arrived I felt a little wobbly at first. I went inside got a drink of water and took a stroll along the Lakeview trail which is one of my favorites and really short. I tried to fire up BIM but the seriously overcast sky which was keeping the heat at bay was also making cell service near impossible. I used my El Cheapo sport watch to time the run. I did have to stop once because for the second day in a row a big black water snake had parked itself on the planks between 3/4 and 1mi. He had his little garter snake buddy hanging with him and he snapped at me once again. The water snake simply dove back in the lake and vanished. Same snake...he has a big pink battle scar at his tail on the left side.
Great run...I used a Fartlek type strategy 3min at full run, 3 at easy slow jog, My times weren't any better really but I learned that I can push pretty fast but not for long. Building blocks...At the end of the run a group visiting from Loretto (all in wheel chairs) were waiting by the bike rack as I prepared to go. They asked a lot of questions and were really sweet. They wished me well as I hopped back on the bike...told my thighs to quit crying and attempted once gain to fire up BIM...that's when I noticed the flashing battery low icon on my phone...long ride home with no tunes, no phone to call for a ride, and no gps. That's one way to make sure you finish a work out!
